CEO
Mark Slavens
With over thirty years of experience in the agriculture, pest control, and turfgrass management fields, Mark is driven by identifying new innovative products and programs for agricultural growers and professional turfgrass managers. Mark spent eleven years in various leadership roles at ScottsMiracle-Gro, ten years managing golf courses across the Intermountain West, and the last three years developing innovative technologies for agriculture. Mark earned his BS in Business and Horticulture from Utah State University, his MS in Crop Physiology from Utah State University, and his PhD in Horticulture Biology from Cornell University. Mark has built a career focusing on the circular economy while working with leading technology companies to commercialize novel products for turfgrass management and agriculture.

Thaddaus Huber
Thaddaus is a fermentation evangaelist and believes in the power of mushrooms to create a new class of high performance biological products for turf and agriculture. Thaddaus is an expert in protein engineering and biomanufacturing with over 15 years experience. Thaddaus received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University, PhD in Chemical Engineering from Colorado State University, and performed post doctoral work at the world renowned University of Washington Institute for Protein Design.

Michael Cantrell
Michael has a deep passion for biotechnology and innovative solutions for turfgrass and agriculture. With a PhD in Botany from Colorado State University and over 15 years of experience in biological engineering, algal/plant physiology, and biomanufacturing, Michael leverages his expertise to create cutting-edge biological products. As a founder of Colorado Biofactory, he co-leads enzyme degradation research, plant response studies, and fungal fermentation to develop the company’s core products. Michael is committed to developing sustainable innovations that enhance turf and agricultural productivity.

VP Sales & Marketing
Phil Dwyer
Phil’s love of turfgrass began in high school while mowing lawns and working on a golf course. His academic career included a B.S. in Turfgrass Management, an M.S. and then Ph.D. in Turfgrass Pathology, all from Michigan State University. Applied turfgrass management experiences included work at several top 100 courses and then work leading turfgrass product development and innovation as an industry researcher.
